I use SPSS pretty regularly, and I got this book when I first started out. I used it a lot in the beginning, and I still go back to it whenever I have a question about which test to use, or how to run a certain analysis.

I purchased several books on parametric and nonparametric testing, and SPSS. This book is user friendly and the most comprehensive resource for explaining SPSS data entry as well as the processes and results.

For anyone has uses SPSS and hasn't had a formal training course in it, this book does a nice job of breaking down the concepts. In particular, the explanation of the results portion of your stats is very helpful.
